Štrbački buk

Within the Una National Park, one of the four in Bosnia and Herzegovina, lies the river of the same name. Considered the most beautiful river in the Roman Empire, it received its name, Una, meaning "the only one." What further enhances its beauty is the 24-meter-high waterfall, Štrbački buk. In fact, Štrbački buk consists of several waterfalls that cascade, creating a magical scene amidst dense forest. This 40-meter-wide waterfall is enriched by numerous cascades and rapids downstream. During the 20th century, numerous wooden mills were located on the banks of the waterfall, which no longer exist today. However, this natural phenomenon is now a favorite spot for nature lovers, diving enthusiasts, and fishermen. About 24 kilometers upstream from Štrbački buk are the Martinbrod waterfalls, the largest on the Una River. Due to its speed, large number of waterfalls, and cascades, Una is the perfect place for rafting, so adrenaline sports enthusiasts often organize rafting on this river. The sight of the waterfall is truly magnificent, so it's worth reaching it via a small, gravel road. At the end of the trail, you'll be greeted by a magnificent sight and the strong roar of the unstoppable Una.

It's important to note that there is an entrance fee to the Una National Park. If you want to visit Štrbački buk, you'll need to pay 6 KM, with the indication that all visitors named Una have free entry. Additionally, it's possible to rent a rafting boat for 60 KM, as well as fishing permits that last for one, three, or five days. The price of these permits ranges from 40 to 140 KM. Nearby, there are various accommodation units and restaurants if you wish to enjoy the charms of Una and Štrbački buk for more than one day. Along the river, there are numerous viewpoints, so you can enjoy the view and take memorable photographs from a safe distance.
