When making your vehicle reservation, you must specify the exact pick-up time. However, if you wish to change the pick-up time, please contact us and we will accommodate you.
02. How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?
A reservation needs to be made at least 24 hours before vehicle pickup, while during high-demand season (July and August), it is preferable to make the reservation at least 72 hours before vehicle pickup.
03. I haven't received a reservation confirmation. Who should I contact?
If you haven't received a reservation confirmation to your provided email address, please check your "Spam" folder. If you still cannot find the confirmation, please contact us via email at info@autorental.ba or by phone at +387 61 22 00 00.
04. Is there a fee for making or canceling a reservation?
There is no fee for making or canceling a reservation.
01. Can I leave a deposit in cash?
Yes, you can leave a deposit in cash as well as by credit card.
02. Why is a credit card required?
A credit card serves as payment assurance for the rental. When picking up the vehicle, we authorize the credit card (reserve funds) for the amount of responsibility (the amount depends on the type of protection clauses you choose). It may take up to 30 days for the funds to be unblocked depending on the bank.
03. What payment methods do you accept?
You can pay by credit and debit cards as well as cash (Bosnian Convertible Mark, KM), bank transfer if indicated during the vehicle reservation.
04. Can I receive an R1 invoice for the vehicle rental?
Yes.
05. Can the credit card be charged after the vehicle rental?
Yes, in case there is a need for any additional charges after the rental (e.g., fines for improper parking during the vehicle rental, traffic violations, damages discovered after washing the vehicle that were not visible if the vehicle was extremely dirty). You will be informed about all subsequent charges via email or phone.
06. What is the difference between damage liability and deposit?
Damage liability is the maximum amount charged in case of new damages to the vehicle, while the deposit includes the damage liability plus agreed costs during the vehicle pick-up (e.g., if you return the vehicle with less fuel or dirty, it will be charged from the deposit).
07. Can I decide on purchasing additional insurance packages during the reservation, or can I decide during the vehicle pick-up?
You can purchase additional insurance packages during the vehicle pick-up, and our staff will explain the benefits to you.
08. Why do I have to leave a deposit if I have an insurance package?
Payment of additional insurance packages does not limit or exclude the user's liability in other circumstances provided by legal regulations and insurance rules governing the loss of insurance rights. Also, these packages do not exclude or limit liability for damages to the vehicle caused by war operations or riots, nor damages due to loss/damage of additional and mandatory vehicle equipment, keys, and documents. Additionally, additional insurance packages do not in any case limit or exclude user liability for damages to third parties and their property.
09. What is the cost of damage to the vehicle?
If you do not have an additional insurance package, the damage will be charged from the deposit amount according to the price list following the price list for your vehicle category.
10. Can I pay for the rental when picking up the vehicle?
You can pay when picking up the vehicle. In that case, the pre-authorization amount is reduced (with additional insurance packages, pre-authorization is not done or is minimized).
01. What do I need to rent a vehicle?
To rent a vehicle, you need a valid driver's license, ID card or passport, and a credit card in the driver's name (Diners, Visa, Mastercard, American Express). In certain cases, a credit card may not be necessary if you have already used our services and leave an adequate deposit.
02. Do I need to have an international driver's license?
An international driver's license is required if your driver's license is not written in the Latin alphabet.
03. What is the minimum and maximum age to rent a vehicle?
The minimum age to rent a vehicle is 18 years with at least one year of driving experience. Drivers under the age of 20 pay a young driver fee. There is no maximum age limit.
04. Is there a mileage limit?
There is no mileage limit; you have unlimited kilometers.
05. Can another person use the vehicle?
Yes, in that case, an additional driver fee may apply, and the additional driver must have all valid documents as the primary driver.
06. Can I pick up and return the vehicle outside of office hours?
You can pick up and return the vehicle outside of office hours for an additional fee for after-hours return/pick-up.
07. What additional equipment do you offer?
Our additional equipment includes: Mobile GPS navigation, in-car WiFi device, child seats for various ages, electric scooter. An overview of additional equipment is available at the following link.
08. Can the rental period be less than 24 hours?
The rental period can be less than 24 hours, but the minimum charge is for 1 day, or 24 hours.
09. Can I return the vehicle before the scheduled return date?
Yes, you can return the vehicle before the scheduled date with prior notice. In this case, we will refund you the difference for the remaining unused rental days.
10. What is the allowed delay for returning the vehicle without additional charges?
The allowed delay is 2 hours. After that time, an additional day of rental will be charged.
11. Is delivery/pick-up of the vehicle to a specific address possible?
It is possible for an additional fee, which depends on the distance between the branch and the requested location.
12. Can fuel be paid in advance?
Yes, in that case, you do not need to refuel before returning the vehicle.
13. Can someone else return the vehicle instead of the main driver?
Yes, but in that case, the person must be indicated on the contract as an additional driver.
14. Can I rent a vehicle if I only have a picture of my driver's license on my phone?
It is not possible to rent a vehicle to a person who does not have physical documents present.
15. How long will the vehicle be available if I am late and do not pick up the vehicle at the agreed time?
If you have informed us in advance, the vehicle will be available until your arrival; otherwise, we cannot guarantee that the vehicle will be available upon your arrival.
16. What is the deposit amount if I decide to rent a vehicle without protection clauses?
The deposit amount depends on the vehicle group being rented and the rental period. Different deposit amounts apply to each vehicle group.
17. Do I need to inspect the vehicle when renting?
You will inspect the vehicle together with our staff and compare any damages on the vehicle with damages listed on the rental agreement.
18. I really liked the vehicle I rented during my last rental. Can I get the same vehicle again?
Certainly, contact us, and we will try to provide you with the same vehicle, but we cannot guarantee it.
01. Is smoking allowed in the vehicle?
Smoking is not allowed in our vehicles. If the smoking ban is violated, a fee for the vehicle's chemical cleaning service will be charged.
02. Is it allowed to transport pets in the vehicle?
Yes, but please note that a cleaning fee will be charged if the interior of the vehicle is soiled.
03. What if I don't receive a full tank of fuel?
If the vehicle does not have a full tank of fuel, you can return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when you picked it up.
04. Where can I check what type of fuel I need to put in the vehicle?
The type of fuel is indicated on the rental agreement and vehicle documents. Additionally, the fuel type is also displayed on the inside of the fuel tank cap.
05. What if I haven't had time to refuel?
When returning the vehicle, you will pay for the missing fuel along with a refueling service fee.
06. Does every vehicle have mandatory equipment?
All our vehicles are equipped with mandatory equipment that complies with local and European road safety laws.
07. What does mandatory equipment include?
Mandatory equipment consists of a reflective vest, warning triangle, first aid kit, spare bulb set, and fuses located in the vehicle's trunk, a fire extinguisher, and winter tires from November 1st to April 1st.
08. What if I lose the key, documents, or registration plate?
In that case, please contact our branch immediately so that we can take necessary steps to allow you to continue using the vehicle as soon as possible.
09. Am I legally required to have a child seat?
According to the law, all children up to 150cm in height must be secured in a child seat attached to the vehicle.
10. How do I install a child seat in the vehicle, and are they safe and clean?
All child seats are safe and clean, and installation instructions are provided on each seat. Our staff is not obligated to install the seat in the vehicle, but they will assist you if needed.
11. Do I need to call the police in case of vehicle damage?
You must call the police and inform our branch.
12. What if the vehicle has a mechanical failure or a flat tire?
In that case, you need to contact our branch. Pay attention to the lights and messages on the vehicle's dashboard and use the manual located in the glove compartment.
13. How can I be sure that existing damages will not be charged to me?
Before and after each rental, a joint inspection of the vehicle is conducted, and all damages are described and photographed in the system and on the checklist.
14. What is the procedure in case of vehicle breakdown abroad?

15. Is vehicle towing charged?
Towing is charged if it is determined that the driver is responsible for the problem with the vehicle.
16. If the vehicle breaks down due to my fault, will I receive a replacement vehicle?
You will receive a replacement vehicle within 24 hours, with possible charges.
17. We rented additional equipment, but we don't need it anymore or it has technical difficulties.
Please contact our branch to return it. In this case, you will only pay for the time the additional equipment was used.
01. What is a cross-border fee and when is it paid?
The cross-border fee is only paid if you are traveling outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The fee of 30 KM is paid once, and the reason is that in the event of any breakdown outside the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the repair or replacement of the vehicle is significantly more expensive than within the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
02. What if I get a parking ticket or any other traffic violation?
If you commit any traffic violation, we as the vehicle owner will receive the fine, and we will inform you via email or phone. Additionally, we are obliged by law to provide your information along with the rental contract to the police department that issued the fine.
03. Is there a charge for chemical or deep cleaning service for the vehicle?
Yes, if the vehicle is not returned in the same condition as it was received, meaning if the interior of the vehicle is dirty or if there was smoking inside the vehicle despite the no-smoking policy.
04. What is covered by the insurance packages?
The BASIC package - This package is included in the rental price. In this package, the client is responsible for the costs of damage to the vehicle up to the amount of 1000 KM if all the agreed and clearly defined regulations, which are an integral part of the contract and are clearly stated on our company's website, are respected at the time of the damage. Additionally, the client bears the costs in the event of theft or attempted theft of the vehicle up to 1000 KM. This package does not cover damage resulting from destruction/damage to car tires, rims, or wheel covers, the lower part of the vehicle, and glass or panoramic roof.
The PLUS package - In this package, the client is responsible for the costs of damage to the vehicle up to the amount of 500 KM if all the agreed and clearly defined regulations, which are an integral part of the contract and are clearly stated on our company's website, are respected at the time of the damage. Additionally, the client bears the costs in the event of theft or attempted theft of the vehicle up to 500 KM. This package also covers damage resulting from destruction/damage to car tires, rims, or wheel covers, the lower part of the vehicle, and glass or panoramic roof.
The RELAX package - This package covers all costs in the event of a traffic accident, theft, or attempted theft of the vehicle, regardless of their amount, but only if all agreed and clearly defined regulations on the contract or on our company's website are respected at the time of the traffic accident or theft of the vehicle. This package also covers damage resulting from destruction/damage to car tires, rims, or wheel covers, the lower part of the vehicle, and glass or panoramic roof.
